For more than four decades, The Coffee Colony has been helping customers discover their next favorite cup. What began with just 18 flavored coffees has grown into a collection of more than 100 coffees and teas from around the world, offering something for every taste and preference.
We partner with six trusted coffee roasters, including several here in Northeast Ohio, to bring fresh, high-quality coffee to our customers. Hundreds of pounds of coffee move through our shop each week, ensuring a constantly rotating selection of flavors, origins, and roasts.
How We Source Coffee
Our shelves are stocked with coffee sourced from growing regions around the world, carefully selected through our partnerships with six trusted roasters. We work with roasters who share our commitment to quality, responsible sourcing, and bringing out the unique character of every bean. By partnering with multiple roasters, The Coffee Colony is able to offer a diverse selection of coffees from different origins, roast profiles, and flavor traditions while supporting responsible practices throughout the journey from farm to cup. Each coffee is thoughtfully chosen so you can enjoy exceptional flavor while feeling good about where your coffee comes from.
And then... there's the ghost...
Local legend says a friendly spirit keeps watch over the shop. Employees and visitors have shared stories of coffee baskets mysteriously flying from shelves and the occasional smell of cooking drifting from an empty kitchen. Whether you believe the tales or not, they have become part of the charm and character that make The Coffee Colony unlike any other coffee shop.

The Coffee Colony was founded by Sharon Lipton and ran alongside her mother Betty Hendrickson, and daughter Kim Hansen
1995
Started shipping small coffee orders around Northeast Ohio

The house was built (originally owned by P.C. Alcott)

The Coffee Colony store was used as a film set for a Hallmark Movie
2026
The Coffee Colony invested in a new online shopping experience to meet growing demand. Makeing it easier for customers across the United States to order their favorite coffees and teas.
Became apart of The National Historical Society
2022
Gage Hansen (grandson of Sharon Lipton) and his wife Kaitlyn Hansen started The Coffee Colony Online to ship coffee all across the country
